The Bubble Project

Okay, first off, this isn't new. But it might be new to you. It was started in the year 2004.

The Bubble Project was started by a guy named Ji Lee, who use to be an advertisement executive and now he has started a project which encourages people to deface advertisements. I'm assuming he wants the public to give their own voices to the advertisements rather than the advertisements giving the voices to the public.

At The Bubble Project website you can download your own bubbles, check out what others have done with the bubbles, read a manifesto or a FAQ and even contact Ji Lee, what ever floats your boat. You can even read more about The Bubble Project at Wikipedia.

They're even working on a book which is due out in Spring! Woo-pee! You can place it on your shelf next to your Found! and PostSecret books.

Overall, this is pretty creative shit, so check it out.

Wow. Eternal Sunshine of a Spotless Mind is such amazing movie. Fuck, It leaves you with such a good feeling of hope. Hope that theres someone else out there. That no matter what happens, you'll meet her. True love somewhere with someone. Its like nothing is perfect. There is something wrong with everyone, and even if it doesnt work out the experience means soo much more than never having it. Just being able to accept someone, just saying, okay. How even though they fought in the end all of the good memories he had with her as he traveled though his mind made it so worth it all in the end. He didnt want to forget.

Wow. I wish it was easier to hold onto these feelings, and keep them with you everyday, but it fades so fast. When I wake up tomorrow morning the feelings will have faded, and it will just be a faint memory. Its good to watch these kinds of movies more often. Garden State is a good example. That movie makes me cry. Its not a sad cry though. Its a happy cry. Its amazing. Sometimes I want a movie like this to be my life. I wish people were filled will more mystery and emotion like the characters in these films. But compared to these movies out lives seem bland at times. I thought that once. But a very smart person cheered me up by pointing out that these movies take place in a time span of over a year sometimes all compressed down into two hours. If a year of any of our lives was compressed into two hours it would seem just like a movie. Everyone including myself needs to slow down and notice life more. Thank you friend.

I want more mystery in my life though. I want to talk to more strangers. Thats something I've always wanted. Meet someone new every day. Most of the time I think its because I'm afraid of what I might learn. Or afraid of myself. Something makes me afraid sometimes. So I just shrug my shoulders and move on. But when I do take that chance, and talk to someone instead of staying silent. Most of the time its such an amazing thing and I meet someone new and learn something new. There's no possible negative, yet for some reason I am still sometimes afriad. I need to shurg my shoulders and not turn away from it but turn toward it. Face it head on and go for it. Thats the only way i'll meet new people.

Love is such an amazing thing. Its so powerful. I can't imagine wanting to erase someone or a memory from my mind though. I wouldn't be who I am today if it wasnt for all of my memories. Everything happens for a reason. Every moment of our lives has a point to it.

God I love life. I want to share each and every happy moment with each and every person and some how all work together and each of us shares happy moments together. At least share the happy moments with unhappy people. I dont know if I could handle other peoples happy moments, because it might over whelm me. To much happiness can be a bad thing. So that would be a bad idea. But people who are sad or just lonely. I want to share my happy moments with them. Some how. And show them that they can be happy too.

The Grates! Are great? It depends on your musical taste ...I guess. The Grates remind me of being fifteen, watching Ghost World and not getting it, but still liking it. I've read a few other reviews of The Grates on-line where they compare them to the Yeah Yeah Yeah's, I think that's bullshit. Maybe the song "Message" sounds a tad like a Karen O tantrum, but all of The Grates songs stand on their own and this just might be because The Yeah Yeah Yeah's aren't from "way down under" and The Grates are. I think this gives The Grates their edge.
Also, I read in an interview (which I can't find now) that the Grates are just 3 friends that get together for a half hour and make music. I liked reading that 'cause I definitely pick up on an apathetic tone in their songs, basically they don't care and just want to have fun and make music. Anyways, here's four words that I think of while listening to The Grates: sex, foil, lipstick, & plush animals.

My New Years Resolution, I want to be more open with my feelings when I try to write. This includes blog posts. When I talk in person and online to people my words flow freely and it isn't a problem for me to talk about anything going on in my life. But, as soon as I open ecto to post a blog I have nothing to say and all i can do is regurgitate information that I read in other blogs. I should be able to do this. I've never been able to keep a journal for more then a week. I need to do laundry. My clothes are a mess. Matt text messaged me today. He wants to come by and hang out, check out the house. He'll be back at PCC next semester. Its going to be very interesting if he starts hanging around again. I have so many memories of Angelos house with Matt and Alex. . . . (next day) wow ok so i fell asleep while i was typing last night. Angelo threw a party tonight to celebrate everyone going back to college. Ronald and his cousin Josh showed up first. Then Jos and Nick. Rob came back. Then they all left and it was me, rob, angelo and, nat. we played two rounds of beer pong. thats pretty much it. angelo and i have to pick up scott tomorrow at 11am at LAX. . . .

Google will unveil its own low-price personal computer or other device that connects to the Internet. Sources say Google has been in negotiations with Wal-Mart Stores Inc., among other retailers, to sell a Google PC. The machine would run an operating system created by Google, not Microsoft's Windows, which is one reason it would be so cheap — perhaps as little as a couple of hundred dollars.

Bear Stearns analysts speculated in a research report last month that consumers would soon see something called "Google Cubes" — a small hardware box that could allow users to move songs, videos and other digital files between their computers and TV sets. Larry Page, Google's co-founder and president of products, will give a keynote address Friday at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas. Analysts suspect that Page will use the opportunity either to show off a Google computing device or announce a partnership with a big retailer to sell such a machine.

i couldn't believe that it happened today.
get up this morning to drive my buddy hugh home at 8 am after he crashed on my couch. i walk downstairs, 2 minutes after i woke up. living room is pitch dark.

me: 'hey dude, what's goin' on.'
hugh: 'mfgajffff'
me: 'it's time dude.... time for all the ladies to get down with benny c.'
hugh: 'wha...? dude, what are you doing up?'
me: 'uh, it's 8 am, it's time to take you home.'

it is at this precise moment when i realize that hugh is not on my couch. it is greg, a bartender from tavern in the square who had been locked out of his place.

me: 'oh... oh shit man... i'm sorry. i thought you were hugh.'
greg: 'hugh left at like, 3 am last night in a cab.'
me: 'wow... sorry man.... whoa... didn't mean to wake you up.'

i should also mention that hugh is a 6'2", 220 pound white irish guy. greg is a 5'11", 220 pound black guy. what an awkward and disorienting moment THAT was at 8 am on a saturday morning.

[Cheney] is an iPod fan, and keeping it charged is a priority for his staff. Normally that isn't an issue, even when he's flying around the world. Air Force II is equipped with outlets in each row of seats. But when Dick Cheney was traveling home overnight Wednesday from his diplomatic mission, most of the outlets went on the fritz.

Working passengers began lining up their laptops to share the power from a couple of working outlets — particularly the reporters who urgently needed to prepare their articles to transmit during a quick refueling stop in England.

But when Cheney said his iPod needed to be recharged, it took precedent above all else and dominated one precious outlet for several hours. The vice president's press staff intervened so a reporter could use the outlet for 15 minutes to charge a dead laptop, but then the digital music device was plugged back in.

That way, Cheney got his press coverage and his music, too.

Google has been focusing an endless amount of focus on expanding it's depth of search. This should come as no surprise to anyone. It started as a web crawler. Now it indexes the world's images, word documents, excel documents, pdf documents, video, news, e-commerce (including eBay, Amazon, and every other mom & pop e-biz worth a damn on the internet), business locations, business numbers, residential numbers, map data, public transportation, more public transportation, e-mail, cell phones, desktops, and the list goes on. They provide the means for communication via e-mail, blogging, text messaging, and voice messaging. Soon, with the recent acquisition of one of Gaim's lead developers, interoperability with Gaim and expansion to video chatting will launch Gtalk into a league of it's own in digital communication. What else could we expect from a company with billions to shred.

Check out Google Calendar. Wait, they temporarily took it down. This just means that it wasn't quite perfect yet. Once it's released, who's to say they won't know the world's events (remember they already know mainstream events a la Google News) Google might contain, in it's index, the fact that I am going to the dentist on some idle Tuesday. They will know this because I will inevitably have to sign my life to them, literally, by accepting their ever so nonchalant terms of usage. Terms which will undoubtedly contain the rights to search all user data to provide cutesy "Google Ads" on the right hand side of each and every calendar.

Ever toy with Google Web Accelerator? You know those Google cached results that come in clutch when you're in a rush and realize your target site's server is "temporarily down for upgrade". Google is speeding up our internet surfing, with the use of their Firefox extension, by offering the target site's website straight from Google's blazing fast servers. So now Google has it's own version of the Internet. It's just as fresh as the content of the actual internet, yet it's served solely from top notch server nodes strategically placed globally and interlinked with fiber lines that they have been gobbling up with their ridiculous amount of capital. Om Malik recently wrote similarly on GoogleNet and Google's nationwide Wi-Fi efforts. I see GoogleNet becoming far more than a nationwide ISP that can target it's audience. I see their proprietary network consuming the Internet as we know it, restructuring the information in a highly closed, yet efficient fashion (as it's already doing), and serving it up packaged nice and pretty just as Google always does. Sure, the Internet will still exist. However, what motivation will generic MySpace User XYZ have to break out of Google when in search of movie times, music lyrics, Brad Pitt pictures, blogging, sex tips, or gay rights movement information.

To further portray the strength of Google's restructuring of information check out Wahib's Middle East Restaurant presence on Google Local. The entire page is apparently machine generated using Google's fabulous information extraction algorithms from the pages it has crawled, cached, dismantled, databased, and analyzed.

If the Internet is defined as an interconnected network of computers with the sole purpose of information distribution, then Google not only owns the Internet but has silently created their own.

GoogleNet = Internet 2.0 Beta (since we all know Google strictly adheres to the perpetual beta model)

So I ask, what will the long-term effects of continued Google use be? I'm not quite sure I want to know.

I made this video for Voxtrot with love. And they loved! it. March.
Basically I was sitting in front of my iMac and staring at the little integrated iSight thing and put it to the challenge by making an iMovie. It's pretty gay, but that's the point. I also used iPhoto. And the fish that are in this are dead now, I really miss them, especially Clorox (the white one) but the fucking shrimp killed them, so now fuck shrimp eat Ramen. I really hate those shrimp.
Um, and no I am not (and never was) a girl scout. I just really like the logo design, because I'm a graphics fag.
